Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What exactly is an LED spotlight?
Answer:An LED spot is a compact lighting fixture that produces a directional light beam. Unlike a ceiling light that disperses light throughout the room, a spotlight concentrates it in a certain area, being ideal for accent lighting, work or to create general lighting by multiplying the sources.
What are the main types of LED spotlights?
Answer:Recessed Spots
They are mounted inside the ceiling (usually plasterboard), their body being hidden.
Spots Applied
It is mounted directly on the ceiling surface. They are the perfect solution for ceilings made of concrete or other materials that do not allow embedding.
Spots on Sina
The spotlights are mounted on an electrically powered rail, allowing them to be easily repositioned and oriented.
How many spotlights do I need and how do I distribute them in the room?
Answer:A general rule for ambient lighting is to plan a spot every 1.5 - 2 m². The recommended distance between spots is 1 - 1.5 meters.
How important is the color rendering index (CRI)?
Answer:Very important! CRI (Color Rendering Index) indicates how naturally a light source renders the colors of objects. A CRI of 80 is considered good for general lighting. For areas where color accuracy is essential (kitchen, dressing room, bathroom, above a work of art), choose a CRI of 90+.
Are all LED spots dimmable (with adjustable intensity)?
Answer:Not. To be able to adjust the intensity of the light, you must make sure that both the LED spotlight/bulb and the wall dimmer are specified as "dimmable" and compatible with each other. Using an inappropriate dimmer can lead to flickering or failure of the spotlight.
How to clean the LED spotlights?
Answer:Always turn off the power supply before cleaning them. Use a soft, dry cloth or a sponge to remove the dust. Do not use liquid or abrasive cleaning solutions.
What does the IP protection index mean (eg: IP44, IP65)?
Answer:IP20: No moisture protection. It is used in dry rooms (living room, bedroom, hall).
IP44: Protected against splashing water from any direction. Necessary for general lighting in the bathroom.
IP65: Completely protected against water jets. Mandatory for spotlights mounted directly in the shower cabin or above the bathtub.
